Chanceless Riot

I guess many people are scared about the riots in London and other British towns.
But I have to confess that I am more scared about the reactions of people.

I am scared about the reports in the media. Not about the reports of burning cars and burning houses and robbed shops. Sure that scares and shocked me too.
I really feel for the people whose future and existence has been destroyed by the riots.

I am scared about the way media is influencing people’s mind.
Actually reading a mainstream media is like voluntarily getting a regular brain wash.

Just have a look at the guys who are rioting.
Why are they rioting?
And what do people think about the guys?

I have checked some of the comments on facebook.
Main tenor: thugs, scumbags!

You can even find pages for e-petitions to take away the benefits of arrested rioters.

Perfect! :-/

I don’t know about British benefits, but I know about other welfare systems.
Big problem is, that the members of the educated class always believe that you are living on the fat end of live when being on welfare.

Just for  information:
Germany’s Hartz IV gives you 364 Euros a month = $ 516 = £ 319.
Barely enough to keep body and soul together.

People living on the poor side of society have to watch that every government in Europe and the USA easily pumps Millions and Millions of Dollars, Pounds, Euros in ramshackled banks but don’t care a fuck about the underprivileged.

Latest stock market crash just destroyed 7000 billions of Dollars.
Imagine this number!
7,000,000,000,000 Dollars destroyed!

22 Million people in Europe have no job!
That’s a quarter of Germany or double of Belgium, or four-times of Denmark, double of Greece, half of Spain, one third of Great Britain.
Try to imagine this number of people.

20% of the unemployed Europeans are young people.
Imagine this again.

A whole generation without chances!
A whole generation just standing aside and watching!
A whole generation learning that nobody cares about them, but all about banks and stock markets!

A whole generation, which is meant to be our future!

This is a ticking bomb!
And now people are wondering that this bomb finally exploded!

I am just waiting that the similar ticking bomb is exploding in Germany too.

What do people expect?
No real chances for the unemployed.
Nobody gives a shit about their knowledge, about their education, about anything concerning them.
Nobody gives a shit.

Society just wants to decide how people on benefit, welfare, hartz iv should live: modest, humble maybe even lousy.

Everybody seems to forget that even the well feed citizen find himself easily on benefits one day. Jobs are insecure these days.
Today you have a job … tomorrow you might get fired.
And than it is up to you to find a new one, and suddenly you are on the other side of the fence.
And you have to learn that it is not that easy to get a job.
It is a myth that those who want to find a job will always find one.
A myth.

You find yourself on the side of the fence where you lose dignity, no matter how much constitution guarantees dignity for everybody.

Unemployment will cause the loss of dignity!

And all of a sudden you have to face that somebody else decides where and how you have to live.
They send you to ghettos, not officially, but all those who can’t afford the apartments in Richmond, Charlottenburg, Westminster or Dahlem have to live in Tottenham, Wedding, Marzahn or  Hellersdorf.
It’s cheap there, but living there might reduce the chances for yourself and your children – finding a job with such an address? No way!

We are living in a burning society but today we have to decide how we want to live in future.
Do we want to live in a society where the poorest are called scumbag and all the money goes to the stock market and banks?
Or do we want to live in a society that cares?

I am not a religious person, but today I thought of the quote of Jesus: “I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!” (Matthew 25:40)

Should we call the least of our brothers and sisters “Scumbags”, and should we take away their chances in life?

I don’t want to live in such a society.
