Musings on Quantity and Quality?
Warning: This post might slip over into a rant.
Musing Monday made me think about money, quality stuff and quantity stuff. I know that money is tight these days. But really it annoys me that people try to make a bargain out of good quality work. Platforms like “fiverr” or “my hammer” really make me scream in pain. People offering graphic design work for about $5 to $150 – in Euros: 4 to 122.
It is ridiculous that you will get a good quality product for such a price.
Recently I have learned that in Berlin the average price for a good professionally made logo is about 400 Euros = $490. Yes there are graphic designers, who are cheaper.
But thinking about the long hours it takes me to create the logo my customer really wants, 400 Euros is not too much for the work.
So how on earth can people offer the same work for $5?
And truth to be told … they really beat down the price.
We all need money to live and we all can only work a certain amount of time during the day.
So what do we want?
Bargains to feel great about the money we have saved?
Or good quality work with all the professional care that is necessary, which is more pricey but will satisfy us for a long time?
What do you think?
