Social Media Rocks (3)

Final Part … they are going back to Croatia tomorrow … strong dislike. 😦

I have enjoyed meeting Ruth this week … twice… on Monday in the city and last Sunday at my place.

I picked up Ruth from the local metro station and we had a lovely walk in Hermsdorf, enjoying the houses and the quietness of a Sunday midday.

Yes and my son was pleased too meeting Mrs Seba.

Being a teenager he can be very tricky at times.

Tea, lemon cake and a sofa to sit on while chatting … what can two girls expect more.

It was truly a pleasure having Ruth at my home.

My cats enjoyed that too, Billy even honored us by laying next to us, close to the window and close to Ruth most of the time.

Maybe he was watching us.

And I would like to reveal what was hidden in the little purple bag I have showed you the other day … just have a look at my neck.

Isn’t it beautiful?

A little filigree silver ball, just for me.

I am so in love with it. It is perfect, tiny, and shiny … and unique.

I always thought that filigree jewels are kind of tricky to handle, I mean with all the space between the silver … but it is stable as a solid filled ball, but look so much better.

Did I mention that I am in love?

Yes I am … so thanks so so much Ruth and Doka, it is awesome, wonderful, beautiful … lacking of words.

Please look at the pix Ruth kindly send me from the cute ball.

It’s great isn’t it?

A little addition:

It was my Social Media Week.

Monday meeting Ruth Seba.

Sunday meeting Ruth Seba.

Saturday I met a long time forum and facebook fellow: Anja Kadgien for the first time.

And that was awesome too. We had a wonderful walk with her cute and lovely dog together, enjoyed a perfect menu at a local Indian restaurant, another lovely walk with her dog and than we chatted for hours in her hotel room. Just sitting on the floor, drinking coke and talking, talking, talking. No pajama party, but very close to it.

Thanks Anja for having been here too. I enjoyed our meeting very much too.

So I am looking forward to see both of these great ladies soonish again.

My son needed an internship – for school.

It is mandatory.

Yes and teenagers really don’t want it – this mandatory thingy.

So he wasn’t very motivated.

His wish: “Internship at a game designer.”

Sure, just to hang around in front of a computer, as he likes doing when being on holidays.

No, no real idea, how it might be like.

So he phoned some game designers – no they don’t take interns.

Usually they are small business, one or two people working there.

Hmmm, what else?

Maybe a lawyer? Or our doctor?

He asked the doc – no they don’t take interns too.

He phoned some lawyers – two wanted a formal application.

Hell it is an internship, we are talking ninth graders!

No reply by those.

Government of the district – application, certificates – they refused to see him.

Mom getting more frustrated than the son.

Bet he hoped, that finding nothing would mean being at home for three weeks.

Ha ha.

Sorry I might sound a bit cynical, but I doubt this.

We wrote nearly 80 emails to different companies in our vincinity.

Nothing  at all  – ok some  replied and told us they are sorry.

Finally I thought: “What about the bicycle shop at the corner?”

I like the boss, he is a nice talkative chap –  runs the shop with two of his sons.

He has done a lot of repairs on my bike the last five years.

So this afternoon we stopped by for a little chat – and voilà the son has an internship.

Must say that I am looking really forward.

They got along very well 🙂

Social Media Rocks – Meeting Ruth

As promised yesterday I am telling you about my fantastic meeting with Ruth Seba of SebaSilver.

Ruth is not the first girl, I have met on the Internet and later on met in person, but the first one I have met on Facebook.

Sometimes it happens that you spot a name in a group or on a friend’s page and you get attracted to that.

I was attracted by Ruth’s name when I entered the 30-Day-blogging-challenge group down in September 2011. Soonly we started to read and comment each other’s blogs.

Was fun.

Than we started to send private messages via Facebook, emails and we also worked together.

Lovely interaction. Read more…
